At ENLIT EUROPE SFÉRA presented its experience in railway transport
Milan became a center of the largest event in the energy sector ENLIT EUROPE that took place from 30 November to 2 December 2021. The main topic was the transformation of energy. The program focused on finding a way to make a global fossil fuel-based energy system more sustainable. The conference was attended by 10,000 visitors, 500 exhibitors and 350 speakers.
In addition to standard topics on decentralization, digitization and decarbonisation, this year the agenda was significantly enriched by lectures and discussions in the field of so-called Sector Coupling that represents the mutual integration of electricity, gas, water, hydrogen and heat production.
Democratization was also a big issue. Discussions on how consumer involvement helps energy companies meet the challenges of the energy market. The environment is becoming increasingly digital and the integration of more distributed energy sources poses a huge challenge for the operation of energy systems.
Many lectures and discussions marked importance of availability and sharing of energy data as a prerequisite for the transformation.
For the first time SFÉRA became one of the active participants and exhibitors of the international conference. We presented our unique solutions in the field of energy, primarily in the transport sector with an emphasis on reducing consumption and increasing energy efficiency.
Sales Director, Ing. Peter Chochol, PhD., presented our experience in the field of railway energy management. Our solution for customers in Slovakia, that helps to improve economy of transport and ňmanagement of wagon operations on a daily basis, met a very positive response. SFÉRA got new experience, ideas, challenges and opportunities for cooperation.
Peter Chochol also gave a short interview about the Enlit Europe conference for eFOCUS. In the interview, you will learn about trends we can expect in the energy sector and how it has been affected by the pandemic.
Participation in the event was partially supported from the resources of the Operational Programme Integrated Infrastructure (OPII) for the project International Center of Excellence for Research on Intelligent and Secure Information and Communication Technologies and Systems - II. stage, ITMS code: 313021W404, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
